2. Sigrid at the Eventim Apollo

The 23-year-old Norwegian released her debut long player this year and Sucker Punch is one of our albums of the year so far. We’ve seen her graduate from 02 Shepherd’s Bush Empire to 02 Brixton Academy and in December she plays her biggest London gig to date at the Eventim Apollo. Tickets

3. Cinderella starring Baga Chipz

RuPaul’s Drag Race UK finalist Ms Chipz plays the Wicked Stepmother in this drag pantomime at Trafalgar Studios which runs for six performances on three Sundays in December. Her band the Frock Destroyers had our Song Of The Month in November. Runs 15 – 29/12/19. Tickets

4. Cats starring Taylor Swift

Plenty of monstagigz favourites in Tom Hooper’s new film of the Andrew Lloyd Webber classic musical including Judi Dench, Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, Zizi Strallen and Taylor Swift. Released 20/12/19. Tickets

5. Star Wars returns

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker is the ninth film in the sci-fi saga and lands in the UK on the same weekend as Cats (see above). Following 2015’s The Force Awakens and 2017’s The Last Jedi, it stars John Boyega and is expected to bring to an end the arc of this particular trilogy.

6. Amelie the Musical at the Other Palace

The musical is based on the 2001 film which was nominated for five Oscars. The musical opened on Broadway in March 2017 and this production began life at the Watermill Theatre in Newbury earlier this year before embarking on a UK tour. Runs 29/11/19 through 1/2/20. Tickets

7. Teenage Dick at the Donmar

Mike Lew’s adaptation of Shakespeare’s Richard III story re-imagined in Roseland High as the class loser lusts for power. Plays at the Donmar 6/12/19 through 1/2/20. Tickets

8. Snowflake at the Kiln

Author Mike Bartlett wrote King Charles III as well as Doctor Foster and this early play about the relationship between a father and daughter runs at the Kiln 10/12/19 to 25/1/20. Tickets

9. Tales Of The City author Maupin at the Bridge

Netflix’s update of the beloved Tales Of The City books and series was one of our hits of the year and its author Armistead Maupin will no doubt reflect on this and what’s next for his family of characters at this Q&A at one of our favourite venues on 9/12/19. Tickets
