There’s a keyboard motif which sounds like the briefest sample of classic 70s ABBA like Gimme Gimme Gimme (A Man After Midnight) before we hurtle into a chorus boasting soaring, longing backing vocals and eulogising the qualities of the night.
Here Comes The Night follows 24 Hours, a song of the month for us this summer, and Fingers Crossed, a song of the week from summer 2020.
1st album for 9 years Magic Still Exists is due to drop this month on 22 October 2021 and it is expected to include all the singles within its 8 tracks and musical interludes.
Agnes told The Sound Of Now podcast: ‘The album is very much [inspired by] that time [away from music]… of finding freedom, to understand what it is to be a human being and to grow.
‘At the same time, I wanted to make an album that, when I go up on stage, I want to feel powerful, filled with energy and like the sky has no limit.
‘The whole album was a healing process and I’ve been having so much fun.’
That 5th album is shaping up already to be 1 of the musical highlights of 2021.
