- Pride transfers to the Bridge Theatre
The musical hit of the summer transfers from the National Theatre’s intimate Dorfman to the Bridge to tell its story of lesbian and gay support for the miners during their 80s strike. New cast members include Dan Hand as Bromley, Ryan Kopel as Mark and Carl Spencer as Reggie. We said back in June: ‘Don’t miss your chance to see 1 of the best new musicals of the year so far.’ It was longlisted for 3 of our monstas this summer. Runs 12 November 2026 through 8 May 2027. Tickets
- Read on for reasons including Ben Whishaw, Victoria Wood, Ryan Calais Cameron’s Afronauts and Tom Stoppard’s Jumpers
2. Ben Whishaw in EuroTrash at the Young Vic
Whishaw (Waiting For Godot, Theatre Royal Haymarket) plays a blocked novelist summoned to Zurich by his aged mother – Ann Droid‘s Kathryn Hunter – who is barely keeping it together with vodka, pills and Ferragamo sweaters. Runs 13 November through 9 January 2027 at the Young Vic. Tickets
3. Victoria Wood’s Fourteen Again
Writer Tom McRae (Everybody’s Talking About Jamie) uses songs by Victoria Wood (Becoming Victoria Wood) in a story about a divorced woman who meets a long-lost childhood friend, wakes up to find she’s Fourteen Again and resolves to live her life differently. Stars Sally Ann Triplett (The Witches, National Theatre) and runs at the Menier Chocolate Factory 21 November through 27 February 2027. Tickets
4. Ryan Calais Cameron’s Afronauts
Calais Cameron wrote For Black Boys Who Have Considered Suicide … which had several West End runs and here turns his hand to the tale of 1964’s new space race contender, Zambia. Stars Lucian Msamati (Waiting For Godot, Theatre Royal Haymarket), Ivanno Jeremiah (Constellations, Vaudeville Theatre) and Pamela Nomvete (To Kill A Mockingbird, Gielgud Theatre). Runs at the Royal Court 14 November through 19 December 2026. Tickets
5. Jumpers at the Hampstead Theatre
Tom Stoppard’s Jumpers is revived for the 1st time in over 20 years. The 1972 comedy of murder, marriage and metaphysics runs at Hampstead Theatre 25 November 2026 through 23 January 2027. Tickets
6. One Day – The Musical
David Nicholls’ internationally best selling novel is given musical life starring Jamie Muscato (BKLYN) and Sharon Rose (Sylvia, Old Vic) at the Garrick Theatre 17 November 2026 through 14 March 2027. Tickets
7. Hamlet Hail To The Thief at the Barbican
Shakespeare’s tragedy collides with the music from this Radiohead album in work co-created by the band’s singer Thom Yorke. Particularly of interest as we anticipate the release of Andrew Scott film Elsinore, the cast includes the very watchable Paul Hilton (Mass, Donmar Warehouse). Runs 31 October 2026 through 23 January 2027. Tickets
8. Film La Bola Negra (The Black Ball) released
We saw Elsinore and Ink at October’s London Film Festival but couldn’t catch this Spanish language picture with Oscar buzz. Starring Glenn Close (Mother Of The Maid, Public Theater, New York) and Penelope Cruz, it jumps between 1932, 1937, and 2017 to explore the connections between 3 gay men and Lorca’s body of work. Opens in the UK 6 November 2026. On Netflix later.
9. La Roux album
La Roux’s 4th album – her 1st for 6 years – is out 6 November 2026 and includes tracks Babyline, Lose Myself and Cabin Fever.
