Colin Morgan plays three very different characters in this Caryl Churchill revival, two of whom are clones of the other.

Written in 2002, it considers the nature versus nurture debate but also what it might feel like to be both a clone and cloned.
Roger Allam (Limehouse, Donmar) is convincing as untrustworthy father Salter, always looking for an easy money-making opportunity, in this thought-provoking two-hander but it is Morgan’s striking versatility that is most memorable.
His three different characters may look similar, although they dress very differently, but their behaviour couldn’t be further removed.
We caught Churchill’s 45-minute Far Away starring Jessica Hynes, written in 2000, at the Donmar this week and we’re starting to appreciate what a fine body of work she has to her name.
Director Polly Findlay (The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie, Donmar as well as Limehouse mentioned above) here she keeps the staging simple. We switch between living rooms rather than encasing the actors in a glass box which was the trick used for the 2015 Young Vic production we last saw of A Number.
The 2002 original was directed by Stephen Daldry at the Royal Court starring Michael Gambon and Daniel Craig.
Colin Morgan is fast becoming one of our most talented actors. We saw him at the Old Vic last year in All My Sons and in Translations at the National the year before.
