Madonna’s latest album Confessions II stakes a claim to be the best LP of the year so far and this is a remix of 1 of its many singles with a guest duet vocal with another of the world’s biggest gay icons.

If 2024 and 2025 were brat summers, 2026 could perhaps qualify as a Madonna or Confessions II summer purely on the basis of this pair’s World Pride appearance recently in Amsterdam and the strength of an album which is bursting out of Club Confessions shows and even into the World Cup.

The song reminds these ears of the 00s dance of Modjo’s Lady and Kylie’s appearance on a verse and singing the title as well as ‘Good vibration’ helps to throw the listener away from that source idea but essentially Love Sensation is the sound of summer if you like your boogie celebratory and on the dancefloor.

If you believe what you read in the papers, Madonna is considering a run of BST Summer Time shows in Hyde Park rather than Glastonbury next year which is not quite what we wanted from her but seems a fitting celebration of what we think of as her best ever album.

Kylie’s rumoured to be contemplating an Anti 2 tour next year but, whatever their plans, this is a fine duet to keep the wildfires of excitement burning about both artists for a while yet.
