  • Read on for reasons including how this is the sound of Freyr capturing that special magic in 1 place once more

He finished 4th for Iceland in 2021 and was 1 of the favourites to win the Eurovision Song Contest the year before with song Think About Things when Covid caused its cancellation.

Too Much Not Enough is his 3rd and best full album so far, 1st since 2023 and contains 5 singles.

Latest single I’m Out And I Wanna Go Home (watch and listen below) is as good a place to start as any and boasts a frenetic 80s beat and lyric musing on both the fear and joy of missing out.

1st single I Don’t Wanna Talk – a top 20 hit in his native Iceland – is laidback electropop boasting a cool whistling hook with an insistency leaving it lodged in your brain.

Follow up Me And You – a top 40 hit in Iceland – has catchy guitar tweaks reminding of Nile Rodgers ushering you to the dancefloor.

Good Enough is a big ballad about self doubt while Hot Damn (watch and listen below) is the catchiest thing here with call-and-response vocals about the importance of going out.

Freyr won our Best Gig monsta in 2021 and live really is the best arena in which to experience him. We last wrote of his live experience: ‘10 Years is pure class and, while the later Think About Things proves it’s very much Freyr’s most popular song, his songwriting is still so consistently good that you wouldn’t bet against something as strong emerging from his keyboards sometime soon.’

Too Much Not Enough is the sound of Freyr capturing that special magic in 1 place once more.
