2. American Psycho at the Almeida
Outgoing artistic director Rupert Goold helms this revival of the musical of Brett Easton Ellis’ cult novel of a successful businessman who can’t restrain his dark side. Runs 22 January through 14 March 2026. Cast includes Daniel Bravo (Cruel Intentions, Other Palace). Tickets
3. I’m Sorry Prime Minister at the Garrick
The final chapter of hilarious Westminster comedy Yes Minister is written by Jonathan Lynn and stars Griff Rhys Jones as Jim Hacker and Clive Francis as Sir Humphrey. Runs at the Garrick Theatre 30 January through 9 May 2026 ahead of a UK tour. Tickets
4. Paul Mescal and Josh O’Connor in The History Of Sound
Mescal’s All Of Us Strangers won our Best Film monsta in 2024 and O’Connor film God’s Own Country won the same accolade 7 years earlier. They both star in film The History Of Sound about a couple who travel together recording folk songs of their countrymen in 1920. Released in September in the US.

We’re expecting singles Balenciaga Covered Eyes, Milk and EGO to be included on this 6th studio album released Friday 23 January 2026. The Swedish pop star won our 2021 Best Song monsta for Here Comes The Night. Tickets
6. Beautiful Little Fool at Southwark Playhouse
David Hunter (Waitress, Adelphi Theatre) stars in this new musical with music and lyrics by Hannah Corneau, who also stars, about the lives of Zelda and F Scott Fitzgerald seen through the eyes of their daughter Scottie. Runs at Southwark Playhouse 15 January through 28 February 2026. Tickets
7. Arcadia at the Old Vic
Author Tom Stoppard (Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, Old Vic) died this year and this play about a teenage child prodigy set in 1809 is directed by Carrie Cracknell (The Grapes Of Wrath, National Theatre) and runs at the Old Vic 24 January through 21 March 2026. Tickets
8. Jessie Buckley in Hamnet
Buckley (Cabaret, The Kit Kat Club at the Playhouse) is the current frontrunner for the Best Actress Oscar thanks to this film adaptation based on a novel about the marriage between Anne Hathaway and Shakespeare played by Paul Mescal and the impact of the death of their 11-year-old son on their relationship. The film is released 9 January 2026 in the UK.
9. 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple
The follow up to 2025’s 28 Years Later, which was shortlisted for our Best Film monsta, focuses on the immediate events after its predecessor and is released in the UK 16 January 2026. It stars Ralph Fiennes (Richard III, Almeida Theatre) and Jack O’Connell (Cat On A Hot Tin Roof, Apollo Theatre).
