- Read on for reasons including how new album Virgin is shaping up to be special
What Was That is the lead-off single from 4th album Virgin out 27 June and contains the very Lorde lines: ‘MDMA in the back garden, blow our pupils up. We kissed for hours straight, well baby what was that?’ I remember saying then: ‘This is the best cigarette of my life.’ Well, I want you just like that.’
She co-wrote this single and also co-produced the 11-track album.
We last saw her live at Camden Roundhouse in June 2022 and wrote: ‘It takes a while but the audience erupts towards the end of the show with a slew of more upbeat numbers. Supercut is electric, Perfect Places anthemic and Green Light is simply 1 of the biggest pop songs you will ever hear given a full-throated singalong here by 1,700 devoted fans at this run of sold-out gigs.’
Last album Solar Power was a bit of a slow burn for us but new album Virgin‘s already shaping up to be something quite special.
Tour details at the link below have just been announced including a gig at The 02 in London.
