SONG OF THE MONTH: Warning Signs by Loreen (November 2024)

WORTH A LOOK?: ****

The artist known in full as Lorine Zeineb Nora Talhaoui is the only woman to have won Eurovision twice and here releases an uptempo 3rd follow up to 2023 winner Tattoo and we hope there’s an album coming soon.

  • Read on for reasons including how to see Loreen on tour in 2025

We would imagine there is because she tours Europe in February and March where we see her at both London’s Eventim Apollo and Barcelona’s Sala Paral-Lel 62, ticket details in the link below.

Warning Signs is about taking chances in a relationship even when things might not necessarily be perfect: ‘I’m wide awake and I can’t believe your body’s right next to me, I’m ignoring all the Warning Signs and I think I’m in trouble but I want it.’

Musically it’s electronic dance music with multiple melodic hooks that dig deep into the memory.

It’s the follow up to Forever which was similarly upbeat and performed memorably in a difficult Eurovision final where Dutch contestant Joost had been disqualified at the last minute after an altercation with a female member of the crew filming him backstage.

Before then Is It Love? was a song of the month for us and there can surely be no shortage of material for Loreen’s 3rd album.

Those on Loreen’s mailing list were also invited to listen to a 30-second Tik Tok clip of a song called Gravity which is far less Eastern-influenced than Warning Signs and a little more midtempo.

Can’t wait to see her for the 1st time live since Liverpool and hoping that the warning signs are that a new album’s incoming soon.
