Monstagigz’s Ms Humdrum was selected as a local artist to produce a street art piece as part of this year’s Look Up Portsmouth, a city-wide celebration of worldwide street artists, including our very own My Dog Sighs, The London Police and many more.

A novice at street art, having only painted watercolour 8”x6” usually, Ms Humdrum was supported by a slew of friends and created her piece, based on Southsea’s famous bus shelters, under her art name Be Your Own Bee Art.
Fatboy Slim, in conjunction with Pepita Coffee, held a meet’n’greet at the event venue, along with artist Chemical X. Ms Humdrum likes to think that Fatboy met HER.
We discussed being present at 1997’s Essential Festival in Brighton where Fatboy Slim was playing. He was in the Skint Records tent, which was far too small for him when the festival actually took place.
He discussed how pivotal that gig was, when his managers realised that there was something about him playing records! We ended by saying just how much we wanted him to play at next year’s Victorious Festival. Watch this space!

Ms Humdrum, aka Be Your Own Bee Art, is invited to the after party tonight, where Fatboy Slim said he may or may not be present. She is hoping to be dancing to any tunes he’s spinning; he can praise her like he should for my art work today.
