We said: ‘We’re only not giving this 5* because we suspect the band has even better within them to give us.’
2. Eurythmics Songbook featuring Dave Stewart, Beverley Knight, Emeli Sande & Nile Rodgers at Royal Festival Hall, Southbank Centre Tickets Review
We said: ‘It makes for an entertaining two-hour ride through a varied back catalogue of astonishing songs which only ever occasionally doesn’t quite hit the mark.’
3. Grace Jones at ONBlackheath Tickets Review
We said: ‘It was the penultimate Pull Up To The Bumper where she piggybacked a security guard to high-five those in the audience at the very front of the stage that was impossible to top.’
4. Pink at Wembley Stadium Tickets Review
We said: ‘There’s actual glitter in the air during the finale Glitter In The Air and, although we may not have been at Glastonbury, that festival’s feeling was much in evidence here as P!nk proved herself a natural future headliner for the event.’
5. Robyn at Alexandra Palace Tickets Review
We said: ‘Every show should have a moment like this during biggest hit Dancing On Your Own when the music cuts out for the 1st chorus and the audience sing it raucously acapella, leaving us thinking in an age of FOMO that at this point in time – the night when the UK might have left the European Union – there was no place that we would rather have been than here.’
On our radar for the next 6 months are Divine Comedy (Tickets), Cher (Tickets), Charli XCX (Tickets), Little Mix (Tickets), Marina (Tickets), Shakespears Sister (Tickets), Shura (Tickets) and Sigrid (Tickets).
