OUT: now
There can be few pop stars who slip between genres as effortlessly as this former lead singer of 90s indie band Theaudience.

We last saw Sophie live at the intimate Bush Hall in Shepherds Bush in January 2014 at the launch of fifth solo album Wanderlust written with Ed Harcourt.
It was ornate, guitar-based and beautiful, a world away from the dance floor where she’d had most pop success not least on Strictly Come Dancing.
Sixth album Familia (out 2/9) reportedly has more of a Spanish and Italian feel. Once again co-written with Harcourt, Come With Us sounds to our ears an interesting bridge between the success of Wanderlust and the disco with which Sophie’s perhaps best associated.
We can also imagine it in pride of place on Sophie’s husband’s band’s (The Feeling) next album. It’s hip-swinging disco which spins hula hoops of joy around its rivals.
