Dan Gillespie Sells is frontman of The Feeling and we gave his debut musical the full 5* when we saw it in Sheffield in February. It’s a real celebration of mothers and sons and transfers to the West End 6/11 booking to 21/4/18. Tickets. The soundtrack is an absolute treat but our favourite is cross-dressing musical-within-a-song The Legend Of Loco Chanel. Don’t. Miss.
Lady Gaga would’ve been our number one but her Joanne world tour now arrives – fingers crossed – at The 02 for two dates early in 2018, rescheduled from this month. No matter. It’s almost Christmas and what would the festive season be without some recognition of the best of 2015? Over the next fortnight we’ll shortlist five nominees in each of 11 categories for our Oscars, or monstas if you will, of 2015. Read on for the nominees for the monsta for gig of the year.

The poptastic 7th Heaven remix of this second single from Get Weird removes the Motown and propels it further on to the dancefloor (clip above). We predicted it would be a second number 1 from this album but it hasn’t quite turned out that way, peaking at a lowly 21 so far. Part of the problem may well have been the enduring popularity of its predecessor which is still big on radio and was undoubtedly one of the songs of the summer if not the year.
