Keen readers may recall back in September, I had a lovely chat with a certain Mr Cook from further up the south coast.

After reminding him of his awesome almost-festival-debut at the Essential Festival in 1997, I asked him when he was going to be playing at our own Victorious Festival.

He replied, “Well funny you should say that …” Fast forward to today.

This pops up on Southsea Common (see main picture). Maybe the Rockerfeller himself is going to be playing right here, right then.

The funk soul brother can choose his weapon of choice, either his own song set or a dj set (or both!) and we’ll all turn on, tune in and cop out for the magic carpet ride. Happy days!
