WORTH A LOOK?: ****

It’s Norwegian pop star Dagny Norvoll Sandvik’s 33rd birthday on Sunday (23 July 2023) and she has much to celebrate as this uptempo electro track with a live band feel is already top 25 in Norway while shaping up to enjoy similar success to its predecessor.

It was co-written with one half of renowned production duo Electric – Edvard Erfjord – and Lisa Reppe and speaks to those who may have lost themselves in a relationship, making compromises you don’t want to make and determined not to do it again.

The lyrics include: ‘Catered your feelings a little too long And not even my voice felt like my own.’

Dagny’s last single Heartbreak In The Making was a song of the month for us in June and also a top 20 hit in her native Norway.

We said: ‘Heartbreak In The Making is far less electro than its predecessor and the opening bars made us think of The Verve’s Bittersweet Symphony with an emphasis on a more country’n’western sound which is increasingly having more mainstream chart success.’

Dagny’s also touring with UK dates and Norwegian festival appearances this summer before a headlining gig at Oslo Spektrum Arena 18 November 2023 and a headline European tour next spring including a gig in London at the 02 Academy Islington on 3 April 2024.

We think she’s 1 of the most exciting pop/electro artists at the moment and can’t wait for her 2nd album not least because we are loving the barnstorming singles that are guiding us towards it.
