We last saw Sigrid live when she headlined Wembley Arena in 2022 and tonight she sells out a hip north London venue that better reflects 3rd album There’s Always More That I Could Say.
- Read on for reasons including what a songwriting and performing giant Sigrid remains
It’s her most musically adventurous but also least popular album so far but we’re loving how she’s maturing as a songwriter, becoming more interesting, experimenting with different musical styles and not just relying on the electronic dance music banger hits of her earlier years.
She’s clearly proud of the album because every track features here in this 90-minute set and the main part closes with the ABBA-esque Fort Knox which is probably the most commercial song she’s ever written with a: ‘Never kissed you, never taught you, never played you, never fucked you … Did I love you? I didn’t mean to’ hook.
Sigrid turns 30 in September and its hard to believe because physically she looks so much younger and there is a pocket rocket athleticism with which she enthusiastically rips into this set.
Recent single Jellyfish with its shuffling indie vibe is probably most suited to this venue and part of London inevitably reminding of 90s Britpop.
There’s some musical experimentation we appreciate rather than being fully on board with including the 70s-style sitars of opening track of I’ll Always Be Your Girl but this is the sound of an artist at the top of their songwriting game willing to take chances which must be applauded.
Sometimes we like to skulk away from the barrier and towards the back of gigs to better appreciate the atmosphere and there’s a smattering of gays like ourselves near the bar but also lots of young women with their BFFs furiously singing along to every lyric with Sigrid.
We next see Sigrid on this tour at the Cruilla festival in Barcelona this summer and we’d love for her to take a little more time and chat to and have a bit more fun with her devoted audience.

No Sigrid live review would be complete without marvelling at the emotional charge of early song Dynamite that always radiates Adele vibes and is always exquisitely performed.
The banging hits do arrive late on to remind everyone why they’re here and to show why Sigrid has also recently become such an in-demand co-writer of other artists’ material.
We leave thinking what a songwriting and performing giant Sigrid remains and can’t wait for the emotional maturity her 4th decade will infuse her material with.
