SONG OF THE MONTH: Salted Caramel Ice Cream by Metronomy (July 2019)

WORTH A LOOK?: ****

OUT: now

Imagine sassy Prince mashing up Greased Lightning from musical Grease with the keyboards from Pulp’s Common People and you might come close to recreating this summer anthem singing the praises of the dash of imperfection that accentuates perfection.

  • Read on for reasons including details of Metronomy’s London gigs later this year

We 1st heard this song at east London’s All Points East festival earlier this year where we described Metronomy’s set as ‘interwoven with new material which sits well within its unusual but hugely infectious electronica’.

Salted Caramel Ice Cream is the new single from the band’s 17-track 6th album Metronomy Forever which is out 13/9.

The band has just announced a 25-date European tour running in October and November which includes 2 gigs at Camden Roundhouse (see link below).

It’s always live where they come into their own and, as well as All Points East, we also wrote about Metronomy’s ONBlackheath gig in 2017.
