Is money too tight to mention this month? Living on a budget doesn’t mean you have to miss out on tickets to your favourite London shows. Read on for our six ways to find the cheapest tickets.
- Be an audience member of your favourite TV show
We saw filming of the hour-long series finale of one of our favourite TV shows (see picture above) for free at ITV Studios on London’s South Bank pre-Christmas. Details of our favourite TV audience organisers are here.
2. Join a club offering cheap or free tickets
One of our favourite clubs costs nothing to join and we recently saw Kinks musical Sunny Afternoon for free with it at the Harold Pinter Theatre. Details here.
3. Have internet access at 10am Monday
One of our favourite theatre deals is the £10 Barclays Front Row scheme at the Donmar Warehouse. At 10am on Mondays tickets go on sale for the week a fortnight ahead. Two of the theatre’s productions, Temple and Splendour, made our best theatre shortlist in 2015.
4. Visit the TKTS booth in Leicester Square
Want to catch a show at the last minute? The TKTS booth in Leicester Square offers half price deals on the day. We recently used it to see the fantastic Beverley Knight in Cats before it closed 2/1/16.
5. Get Into London Theatre
We’re using this promotion to get a third off our tickets to see long-running shows we’ve not caught yet: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time, Les Miserables, War Horse and Matilda.
6. Friday Rush at the National
An allocation of £20 tickets for all shows the following week are available from 1pm Friday at the National Theatre.
